There were some people in the music world who were a little taken aback by the transparency of that film.” Through the Never needed to have that narrative from the start, and if they could put that into a music film, it would be something special. “If people like it, then it’s a great thing. But there had to be a story in there of more than four guys playing a rock show and eating sandwiches backstage in a prayer circle. The world doesn’t need another movie like that.” Metallica still has a couple of weeks left before finishing the movie.

When Ramsey noticed the field would be small, he made arrangements with trainer Wesley Ward for Emotional Kitten to be sent to California. I couldnt pass it up, he said. Hollywood rebounds, but family-friendly offerings still limited

The race was marred by an injury to Caelis, who was pulled up on the backstretch and vanned off. Hollywood Game Night Jane Lynch - H 2013

As noted in a recent New York Times article by Brooks Barnes, in just the two-month period from May 1 to July 4, studios will have put out 13 movies with budgets in excess of $100 million each a 44 percent increase over the same period in 2012. Even April a month normally considered a cinematic dumping ground saw the release of Joseph Kosinskis $120 million sci-fi actioner Oblivion, starring perennial box-office draw Tom Cruise (although it was the Jackie Robinson biopic 42 that scored the highest April numbers). Somehow, though, even with all the extra money being poured into would-be blockbusters, this summers lineup has so far felt a little bit like deja vu. In an attempt to duplicate the success of Marvels The Avengers, which grossed $1.5 billion last year, the 2013 summer movie season officially kicked off with another entry in the Marvel cinematic universe, Iron Man 3 . Robert Downey Jr.s third (and probably final) solo outing as the Armored Avenger managed to survive mixed reviews, the inevitable backlash of comic book purists and the threat of franchise fatigue to become the second highest-grossing superhero film of all time, rocketing past The Dark Knight Rises to the tune of $1.2 billion. That figure was apparently enough to convince even the famously tight-fisted Marvel studio heads to re-sign Downey Jr.

Night of firsts at Hollywood

“I’m sure it will be expensive. My producers dealt with the cost. But then I look at the weightage that the cost will add to my overall experience of the film. I give a lot of importance to sound as I believe it serves as a narrative medium by itself.

Hollywood Park: Lewis sending Clubhouse Ride as potential Gold Cup upsetter

But Hudson Hawk has refused to go quietly. It may not have been the blockbuster for which Silver Pictures is known, but it had “cult classic” written all over it. Over the years, viewers have generally divided into the love-it or hate-it variety. (If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m in the former campand proud of it.) The director, Michael Lehmann, who has never again been given a massive budget, was best known for the darkly comic high school satire Heathers , where he routinely achieved the same kind of outrageous, did-someone-just-say-that? humor that often pops up in Hudson Hawk, but with a far more frugal budget. Not coincidentally, the screenwriter of Heathers, Daniel Waters, was one of the scribes hired to transform the original story by Willis and his composer buddy, Robert Kraft, into a script.

Hollywood’s Superman movie catches flack from weather officials

I think Joe is an excellent rider, Lewis said. If the horse is good enough, hell get him there. Garrett fits the horse in a tremendous way. Its disappointing not to have a rider that has been successful on the horse. I dont like change when things are going right. The Gold Cup will be Clubhouse Rides sixth start this year, with the Californian his only win.

Cleaver plans to seek additional funds from Washington, D.C., to expand the program. Facing a pollination crisis, beekeepers swarm to aid hives More than 150 people made a beeline earlier this year to an Independence workshop for beginning beekeepers. Driving this heightened interest in the well-being of bees is a mystery that has vexed scientists since 2006 a worsening crisis called colony collapse disorder. Its like when the towns on fire and you ring the bell, says Cathy Misko, president of the Midwestern Beekeepers Association. Everyone comes to help.
